dc.description.abstractIn order to mitigate the environmental hazards due to discharge of untreated effluents, the Delhi Government entrusted the work to Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) who contracted with National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) in 1996 for the design of common effluent treatment plants (CETPs) for the industrial estates. Mangolpuri, CETP is one of the ten common effluent treatment plants at present operational in Delhi. It is serving the Mangolpuri Industrial Area, Phase I & II. An attempt has been made to evaluate performance efficiency of the treatment plant. Water samples were collected at different stages of treatment units and analysed for the major water quality parameters, such as pH, biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and total dissolved solids (TDS).
