This study investigated randomly distributed natural fibers as a reinforcement for Poorly Graded Sandy Soil . Sands are found widely and are , particularly , vulnerable to variations in moisture and low strength in engineering-related issues . Weak soil frequently requires stabilisation when the intended use requires strength and durability . These soils are porous , and exist widely in parts of Northern and southern India . In building roads , subgrade strength should be increased when encountering weak subgrades , as the strength of the subgrade soil has a major impact on the thickness and lifespan of the pavement . Increasing strength and stability of the subgrade soil can help reduce pavement thickness through reduced construction costs , with traditional building materials being preserved for the generation to follow .en_US
