| dc.description.abstract | This report compares the return on investment (ROI) of two most popular digital advertising channels, Google Ads and Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram). The comparison focuses on industry reports, academic research, and data from digital marketing agencies. It looks at cost metrics, conversion performance, industry fit, and how platform technology is changing. The digital advertising market in India was worth 13.6 billion dollars in 2024 and will reach 32.3 billion dollars by 2030, with a rise of 15.3% per year (Grand View Research, 2025). Out of the total ad spend 44% is spent on Digital Ads and it overtook TV for the first time in 2023. India is one of the largest and most important digital advertising market in the world, with 806 million internet users, 96% of them on mobile (Meltwater, 2025). The report finds that Google Ads and Meta Ads are very different. Each works best in different situations. Google Ads targets people who are actively searching for something. It captures demand that already exists. Well-run Google campaigns in India generate Rs.6-Rs.10 for every Rs.1 spent, with incremental ROAS of 4.14x-5.21x for e-commerce and non-branded searches (upGrowth, 2026). On the other hand Meta Ads, introduces people to products they didn’t knew about and is good at generating awareness. Top Indian D2C brands average 3.2x ROAS on Meta Ads, and the entry cost is much lower (Sociolabs, 2026). Everything doesn’t fit everyone. Google Ads tends to work better in sectors with high purchase intent, real estate, financial services, healthcare, and B2B. Meta Ads works better where discovery matters, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and food. For brands with bigger budgets, combining both platforms, Meta to build awareness and Google to capture the resulting demand, helps them deliver the best results This report also looks at how creative quality, privacy changes, AI automation tools, and regional language advertising are changing what Indian advertisers can expect from each platform in 2025 and beyond. | en_US |
