| Abstract: | A more skill-oriented framework has replaced traditional teaching techniques in India's educational system, which has caused significant change over the years. It promotes development of practical skills in addition to the study of science, math, economics, and history. It offers individuals the abilities they require to utilise resources efficiently. A strong educational system provides people skills and information required to make a substantial contribution to advancement of the country. A major turning point in India's educational development is National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, that attempts to accomplish this objective. Examining India's educational policies reveals the revolutionary changes brought about by the several committees and commissions that have worked to improve educational standards throughout the years. Three historic NEPs that went into force in 1968, 1986, and 2020 are specifically examined in current research, that examines India's educational policy since gaining independence in 1947. It covers significant turning points, legitimate expenditures, budgetary allocations, and development of educational system from elementary schools to universities. This study also looks at infrastructure advances, educational access, and shifts in student demographics throughout time. By contrasting the educational policies' intentions and outcomes, the paper demonstrates how they shaped the Indian educational system. Current research article examines each policy's issues and solutions, particularly NEP 2020, for determining India's educational system's achievements and drawbacks. |
