Abstract

North-East India is a hilly region with an economically backward economy) The people of this region face many challenges in accessing affordable housing) They need the intervention of experts and the government to develop affordable, modular, and portable homes made with sustainable materials) These homes would be especially beneficial in the event of natural or man-made disasters.

The design of these homes sho2ld be based on the following principles

1 Affordability: The homes should be affordable for the people of North-East India) This can be achieved by using sustainable materials and by using modular construction methods( 1 Durability: The homes should be durable and able to withstand the harsh weather conditions of North-East India( 1 Portability: The homes should be portable so that they can be easily moved in the event of a natural disaster( 1 ustainability: The homes should be made with sustainable materials and should be designed to minimize the environmental impact.
