Abstract: Current trends in the construction sector demand higher, lighter buildings that are also more flexible and have a low damping value. There are a few procedures available these days to restrict the vibration of a structure; among the few options to control vibration, the idea of using TLD and TLCD is a recent one. The objective of this study is to see whether Tuned Liquid Column Dampers (TLCD) can reduce seismic vibration in a structure when it is subjected to horizontal excitation. In this study, an approach for designing TLCD for a structure has been suggested, as well as a strategy for demonstrating TLCD in the ETABS 2019 software. In the present work of G+12, G+17, G+20, G+24 story buildings, it is analyzed by using a time history function with and without TLCD (as a TMD). And response of the building as a maximum story displacement, and story drift etc. can be obtained by using the tool like ETABS 2019. A tuned mass damper (TMD) is a equipment that is connected to a structure and consists of a mass and a spring to minimize the structure's dynamic response. In time history analysis, mainly El-Centro earthquake used which is presented in this work using ETABS 2019 software.
