Abstract: | The accumulation of microplastic in the soil have increase the concern for the unknown consequences for soil environment. The continues usage and disposal of microplastic have impacted the health of the soil. The usage of plastic mulch has been increased in agroecosystem for increasing the crop yield but it has destroyed the structure of the soil have affected the crop growth due to which food and human health have been affected. This review has listed the impact caused by the microplastic in the soil and how the problem can be resolved with the upcoming future challenges with prospective for studying. The continuous usage of microplastic should be a concerned in the future. |
