Abstract: | Hydrogels were synthesized utilizing, Carboxy methyl cellulose sodium salt, Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, Methyl cellulose and Tannic acid. The methodology incorporates free radical polymerization strategy with acrylamide (AAm), N,N'- Methylenebis-acrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker and Potassium Persulfate (KPS) as an initiator. The synthesis was evident with the help of characterization using Thermogravimetric analysis for thermal analysis, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy for detecting the functional groups present and linkages formed , Scanning Electron Microscopy for surface morphologies , X-Ray diffraction for investivating the crystalline or amorphous nature and swelling studies in buffer solutions of pH 4.0, pH 7.4, pH 9.2 and distilled water for investigating the absorption characteristics. |
