Abstract: Welding is one of the most effective joining process and used in a wide range of industrial and production applications for joining of metals. Traditionally arc welding technique performs a significant role due to its simplicity, mobility and versatility in joining materials with varying thickness, shape and physical properties. In Our research work we have used AA6082-T6 aluminum alloy because of its light weight and abundant use in shipbuilding and aircraft industries. We have done the optimization of parameters for the response parameters that will be useful when the use or study of AA6082 will take place. We have chosen voltage, welding speed and gas flow rate as our input process parameters and penetration depth, weld-bead width and residual stress as our response parameters. Design expert software was used for the analysis through response surface methodology and Matlab platform was for the analysis part of ANN simulation and the for the use of genetic algorithm. We found out the final output parameters and predicted the data with the help of artificial-neural-network.
