Abstract: With the development of cutting edge technologies, 21st century homes are going to be fully automated. As we have seen in our near past communication media have involved and it has achieved a maturity. This inculcates various fields on single board with fail out system and develops all new living experience. In this research work we will hash out topic deeper and discuss on recent trends in Home automation. The recent development of open source platform provided greater strength to the application based automation. This automation not limited to home but it is giving exemplary support to other industries also. Home automation system getting broader day-by-day with addition on new features like switching, monitoring, controlling, surveillance etc. In this thesis we will discuss different mode of communication media like wi-fi, Bluetooth, zigbee, gsm system etc. along with feature of said technology will develop working model of triple layer fail out home automation hardware. We also found the merits and demerits over existing technologies.
