dc.description.abstract | Being a developing nation, India needs large quantities of water for meeting all the different types of water demands. This is not possible with the available amount of water sources as the demand is huge. But this problem is solvable if we reuse the wastewater by treating it upto required standards of Central and State Pollution Control Boards. This is not feasible at large due to various contraints like land availability, money and political will. But this can be solved at local levels by decentralising the wastewater systems using technologies like MBBR, MBR, SBR, etc. In this study we will be studying such STPs in different locations of India to have a better insight about these technologies. A number of parameters like plant capacity, capital cost composition, operation costs composotion, BOD removal, COD removal and TSS removal along with different cost compositons will be studied. This is carried out to find the most suitable technology for the purpose of treating wastewater a local levels. This will help in increasing the wastewater treatment efficiency in India as the currently available wastewater treatment efficiency in India is just about 33 percent. | en_US |
