dc.description.abstractThe objective of the report is to Study public procurement system in Power Generation and Distribution companies with special reference to e-procurement. In this study current practices of procurement being followed in North Delhi Power Limited now renamed as Tata Power Delhi Distribution Company(A Joint Venture between Tata Power and Delhi Govt)., Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) and Punjab State Electricity Board has been done. A comparison of the practices and policies being followed in these companies is done and benefits which can be drawn from e-procurement and challenges which would come in way are discussed. These utilities have been selected for study and comparison as all the three utilities resembles in size and business and resource were available who can provide data relevant data to carry out comparison.en_US
