dc.description.abstractThe project presented here is an attempt to use Facial feature Extraction for human image. The applications instigated from such an attempt will result in to a set of extracted facial features. Using these facial features various recognitions can be derived. Age recognition is the primary recognition, which is under research for various requirements. The project is an attempt to use a basic feature detection algorithm for images which contains human image. The applications instigated from such an attempt will result in facial feature detection of image which has human in it. It tries to draw understanding of unique age detection methods using PCA for facial feature extraction and KNN as classifier. The idea can be describes in 5 steps process. In which first step is involved with capturing the image either by camera or through database. The second step to preprocess image and capture the face object. Third and fourth step is for feature point extractions (i.e. for different facial component like lips, eyes, forehead and chin) and feature space reduction. The final step is for age classifier.en_US
