Abstract: | The goal of high-e ciency power ampli er operation from 30-520 MHz has been addressed in the current design by the use of tunable reactive elements in the out- put resonant network. Filtering at the target harmonic frequencies will be achieved by maintaining a xed inductance and utilizing a PIN diode switching circuit to selectively introduce di erent capacitance values, presenting the frequency-speci c short and open circuits that will allow for power ampli er operation at the de- sired fundamental frequency. This approach allows the power ampli er to cover several octaves or more, achieving operation across a wide bandwidth and greatly increasing the exibility of the design for possible use in other frequency ranges. The rst chapter gives the overview and objective of the lter. The speci ca- tions of the lter required is listed in this chapter. The second chapter gives an idea about the literature, several types of tech- nologies used for tuning, how pin diode can be used as a switch, variation of series resistance with frequency. The third chapter has several methods of designing the lter , lter banks, and which is suitable for desired speci cation. The fourth chapter includes design of schematic in PADS and simulation in simulation software ADS, tuning process. At the end the last two chapters includes the response output of network analyser and the project is concluded in the last chapter. |
