In this thesis the hardware prototype for solar powered LED lighting system is developed. Output of a Sepic convertor is regulated in closed loop for battery charging applications. The variation of output voltage is done by controlling the MOSFET using pulse width modulation (PWM) technique. The switching action of MOSFET is controlled by the Arduino microcontroller, which controls the duty ratio of MOSFET switch and consequently the convertor output voltage. The closed loop control is used having varying input and load conditions of the circuit. Proteus 8.2 is used for the simulation purpose. Experimental results validate the simulated results in open as well as closed loop control of Sepic converter.en_US
