Abstract: In this work, a new screen printed paper-based electrochemical sensor is developed as a low-cost and disposable point-of-care device for glucose detection. A cellulose paper disk is modified with biocomposite of reduced graphene oxide and glucose oxidase (rGO-GOx). Further, rGO-GOx modified paper electrode has been used as an electrochemical cell for storage of [Fe(CN)6]3-/4- ions as mediator and phosphate buffer. The electrochemical signals are recorded by adding glucose to the modified paper disc which is placed on top of a SPE. This biosensor exhibited a linear range of 50 to 500 mg/dl glucose (R2 = 0.99), with a remarkable sensitivity of 0.331 μAdl/mg and a limit of detection of 0.12 mg/dl. This minaturized electrochemical setup is simple, lightweight, portable, low cost and is disposable.
