In this report, an enhanced encryption algorithm has been proposed to protect confidential data on smartphones. Along with this, a remote secure user authentication or secure handshaking protocol has been proposed. In order to get location independent access to smartphone services and resources, data is backed up in cloud. To make sure privacy and security of data is not compromised, data encryption and user authentication are pre-requisites before transferring data into cloud. Due to performance and resources of phones, encryption is least priority. Current project work involves implementation of Enhanced Light Weight Encryption Algorithm based on AES and secure handshaking authentication protocol between phone and cloud. The proposed method uses user provided credentials and device specific properties. With help of enhanced encryption algorithm and handshaking protocol, data is making secured on user side before sending to cloud. Major Goal is to show proposed method is better and efficient than existing encryption algorithms.en_US
