Operational transconductance amplifiers, more popularly referred to as OTAs belong to a class of analog signal processing elements for which the output is a current rather than a voltage .OTAs have establish themselves as a very useful active building block because of certain features which are not present in the other signal processing blocks namely operational amplifiers. These features include availability of high output impedance terminals and variability of open loop gain. Operational transconductance amplifier can be used in a variety of applications such as voltage controlled amplifier (VCA), voltage controlled resistance (VCA), voltage controlled filters etc. In the present work many of these applications have been implemented using integrated circuit operational transconductance amplifier IC LM13600.This IC has two diodes linearized transconductance amplifier and two uncommitted Darlington transistors available on the chip which can be used as voltage buffers. These buffers can be used in conjunction with the OTA to realize other active building blocks also.en_US
