dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, ground motion has been modeled as IIR sixth order adaptive filter. Three IIR filter models have been compared for various earthquakes. White noise input is given to the filter and the filter coefficients, initialized as zero are adapted such that the output is equal to the desired earthquake. Further, three adaptive algorithms, namely, standard least mean square (LMS) algorithm, normalized least mean square(NLMS) algorithm and LMS algorithm with different coefficients for forward and feedback loop have been used in this research. Acceleration time history graphs for different earthquakes alongside the generated acceleration time history have been plotted for different algorithms. Power spectral density Function vs Frequency plot for different earthquakes with different algorithms have also been worked out. It has been identified that NLMS algorithm gives the best result for Power Spectral Density Function. | en_US |
