Abstract: | Asiala 2015 was organised in association with Asian Library Association on 16 may 2015 welcome address as underRespected dignitaries on the dais, learned librarians , participants and friends, it’s my privilege to have you all in this library for the inaugural ceremony of the seminar “Managing knowledge and learning resource: Repositioning Libraries in virtual era.” On behalf of Delhi Technological University Library, Asian Library Association and on my own behalf I welcome the chief guest Ms. Kirsty Crawford Director Library and Digital Information Services British Council, India who has been kind enough to agree to become the chief guest in such a short notice and spared her valuable time for this event from her busy schedule. Madam your words of wisdom will provide an in-depth understanding to the participants on formulating new paradigm which are essential for the coexistence of print and e-resources I also welcome Prof Ashutosh Trivedi Dean Industrial research and development Delhi Technological University and former Dean Faculty of Technology University of Delhi. Sir I feel highly obliged to you for agreeing to preside over the inaugural ceremony. Sir your words of wisdom as a user of the library and as an administrator shall help us to reposition the libraries in emerging scenario. Friends the inaugural address is one the most important speech which provides us the direction for identifying the issues required to be discussed during the seminar and for that there can be no person other than Prof PB Mangala ,Tagore National fellow ,Govt of India, former dean faculty of Arts and former Head Department of Library and Information Science University of Delhi, Sir I welcome you and we are eagerly waiting to listen you at this occasion . Friends the thematic address underlines the roadmap for the whole seminar and we have with us a person no less than Dr DV singh Librarian University of Delhi whose words of wisdom will enlighten us ,Sir I welcome you at this occasion. The visionary responsible for formation of Asian Association of libraries ,Dr. SS Dhaka, Director, library Ministry of external affairs and the man behind the seen for the whole on going activities of the seminar is also with us to boost the morale of the organizing team ,I welcome you sir . I also welcome the learned guest speakers, Chairpersons of the sessions rapporteur general and Rapporteurs whose inputs in the coming sessions is going to enlighten us. I also welcome participants without whom the seminar could not achieve its goal. At the end to quote His Holiness Dalai Lama “When you talk, you are repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new”. Friends now it’s time to listen to stalwarts. Thank you very much |
