dc.description.abstracttransmission lines for the distributed tap ampli¯ers. In this work, we also discuss the design of distributed ampli¯er MMICs for frequency range of 0.5- 20 GHz. Finally, we design an equalizer with FIR ¯lters having programmable tap gain; it is done by replacing the each tap of FIR ¯lter with distributed ampli¯ers. They can be used as a linear equalizer or as a part of decision feedback ampli¯ers. In this project, the designed distributed ampli¯ed is basically a Traveling Wave Ampli¯er. It is commonly used as a general purpose wideband power stage in commu- nication systems, microwave instrumentation, and optical systems. Ideally it is suited for broadband applications that require a °at gain response and excellent port matches over 2-50 GHZ frequency range. Dynamic gain control and low frequency extension capabilities are designed into these devices. All circuits in this project have been designed using ADS (Advanced Design System) software of Agilent technologies. Schematics of various circuits and also their output results are included.en_US
