Abstract: Design of concrete mixes is a very important step in the construction of RCC buildings. All the constituents of concrete are to be provided with correct quantities depending on various factors. Some of these factors may be dependent on environmental factors or conditions while some of them may be based on physical or chemical characteristics of various materials used in the mix. Quality of chemical admixtures such as superplasticizers may be important in the respect of workability provided by them. Due to variations in the workability of the mix, quantities of various constituents may vary. Indian standard method of concrete design considers various factors for the design of concrete mix. In this project various such factors have been considered and effects of them has been studied on the design of plain concrete (PCC) mixes.
