Abstract: Multicasting is a useful service to support applications, like video/audio on-demand or teleconferencing, consume a large amount of network bandwidth because of, first the volume of the transmitted data and, second the larger number of application members. The shared aggregated tree approach in multilayer network enables optimization of the whole network in much more effective way comparing to the single-layer method, where each layer is optimized separately what cannot guarantee the global optimality of the solution. In this thesis we have developed an algorithm for the evaluation of the performance of label aggregation mechanism. We are using a mechanism of group aggregation for multicast in MPLS networks to reduce related states during the multicast process and alleviate the usage problem of the limited label space. The essence of this mechanism is to let the multicast sessions that have the same multicast tree share the same label. But because not all of group/tree mapping are perf...
