Abstract: Drilling is one of the most widely used metal cutting processes. The increasing importance of drilling operations is gaining new dimensions in the present industrial age, in which the growing competition calls for the efforts to be directed towards the economical manufacture of machined parts as well as surface finish is one of the most critical quality measure in mechanical product. In a developed economy, market for any product is generally highly competitive. To be successful in such a condition producer has to provide output which has distinctive advantages over others e.g. innovative designs and ideas extremely good quality related to aesthetics and functional aspects etc. Quality is a good tool for competition. It is necessary for customer's satisfaction and also for meeting societal obligations.
