Abstract: The enormous increase of data has made it difficult to find, access, present and maintain the information required by a wide variety of users on web. It is facing new problems such as information overload, inefficient keyword searching and heterogeneous information integration. These problems will be tackled by the modern technology known as Semantic Web Technology. The efficient management and presentation of data is called knowledge representation, which will work as the building block for the semantic web and semantic web applications. Knowledge representation is the main issue with current web which can be resolved by the concept of ontology in semantic web. Ontology is a common set of terms that are used to describe and represent knowledge in an organized way, which is now days Ad-hoc in nature.
