Abstract: An abrasive jet machining is a jet of air which contains abrasive material. Usually the air exits a nozzle at a high speed and the abrasive material is injected into the jet stream. The purpose of the abrasive jet machining is to perform machining or finishing operation such as cutting, deburring etc. The use of the abrasive jet machining for machining or finishing purposes is based on the principle of erosion of the material upon which the jet hits. This project provides the information on the Abrasive jet machining and the related parameters and latest developments in this field for the cutting of brittle materials like glass and ceramics, Also a design is developed and employed for improved collection of the abrasive after the machining. Also the application and advantages of the process are discussed showing the versatility of the process. Equations are developed for the data collected for machining of fibre glass regarding the MRR by varying the values of Pressure, Abrasive size ...
