dc.description.abstractSheet metal industries are growing very rapidly in various sectors. It has become very popular in automobile sector and is also widely used in manufacturing of domestic products. Demands of the customers are increasing rapidly in the fields of variety, durabilitity, availability and aesthetic look of the products. In order to sustain in this growing competitive environment manufacturers has to take certain actions in order to survive and grow in the market. This has led to identification of various areas where cost saving, quality improvement, etc. can be done. One of the major factors for this is optimization of the material used for manufacturing of the products. Most of the small scale industries are using the conventional method for material optimization i.e. is actual cutting on press tool (manual technique) which results in to material wastage during the trial stages.
