Near Surface Mounted (NSM) technique for retrofitting the RC structures using steel,FRP etc in form of rods and strips as a reinforcement is one of the most Promising Technique. In the NSM method, grooves are first cut into the concrete cover of an RC element and the reinforcement is bonded therein with appropriate groove filler (typically epoxy paste or cement grount or epoxy-sand mortar) In this report ,firstly a literature study of the existing work has been carried out. Then four beams were casted with omitting shear stirrups in half the portion in two beams and in one beam no shear reinforcement was provided with internal shear stirrups. And then preparation of the test specimen retrofitted and strengthened inshear using NSM steel strips and NSM steel rods have been described. Latter the beams were tested under a single point load keeping (a=700mm)>3d, and the test setup and instrumentations done have also been described. And the crack pattern was studied and also the strain at ...en_US
