Abstract: Digital watermarking has been proposed as a viable solution to the need of copyright protection and authentication of multimedia data in a networked environment, since it makes possible to identify the author, owner, distributor or authorized consumer of a document. This report presents a secure (tamper-resistant) algorithm for watermarking images, and a methodology for digital watermarking that may be generalized to audio, video, and multimedia data. The main objective of this major project is to develop and implement a Digital Watermarking technique for digital images. In this project work, I have developed and implemented a resistant, robust algorithm, for watermarking digital images. It is modified version of algorithm that is recommended by I. J.
