Abstract: Pollution has definitely been a curse on contemporary and is a hot topic of debate at all levels. In the last decade, the importance of environment conservation has assumed great significance. People and institutions alike have been battling it out for a “cleaner, greener, world” even in Delhi, once declared as the world’s fourth polluted city, the last couple of years has witnessed a greater devotion and awakening towards protection of environment. Main aim of this project is to estimate present pollution load of Delhi, and find the main culprit among the various components of the Transportation System. In this work we were able to find out basically two wheelers and four wheelers are the main polluters. While Auto rickshaws and goods vehicles show a negative growth in recent past, whereas Taxies and Buses are not being added in required quantity and thus need to be taken care off to limit the growth of private vehicles.
