Abstract: The demand for access to computational power, resources and storage capacity is never ending despite the fact that computing technologies now achieve a high level of sophistication due to continuous improvements in computing power and network bandwidth. The demand of solving these large and complex new problems is met using the concept of Grid Computing. Grid computing deals with the structure and operation of computational grids providing an infrastructure to allow access to a wealth of sharable resources such as processing power, databases, and any other hardware devices or software components. The present technology uses PKI as a secure and standard technology so that the participating resources as well as the users can be uniquely and securely identified within a grid environment. But the PKI system provides coarse level of access control i.e. the resource is either fully available or not accessible at all.
