Resistance spot welding (RSW) is widely utilized as a joining technique for automobile industry. The purpose of most spot weld qualification procedure is to insure that, for given material, a weld nugget of adequate size can be achieved. There are three recognized parameters of resistance spot welding – weld current, cycle time and forging pressure which affects the nugget size. Due to variation of these parameters, there is also effect on the mechanical properties spot weld joint. The experimental work is done to study the effects of variation of parameters on nugget diameter and properties in resistance spot welding process for a particular isotropic material. The experiments are conducted on isotropic material and its various physical and thermal properties were known. From the fundamental theory of the resistance welding, it is well known that the minimum value of the dynamic resistance (Rmin) and the maximum value of the electrode displacement (Smax) during the welding have relati...en_US
