Several methodologies have been proposed for modeling but most of them have had limited success in comprehensively incorporating the various aspects of the system. The various modeling techniques differ significantly in the extent to which they provide the ability to model different system perspectives. Petri net, a combination of the simulation and the mathematical numerical methods can be effectively used for describing and studying information processing systems that are characterized as being parallel, distributed, asynchronous, concurrent, deterministic and/or stochastic. This dissertation proposes to explore the capabilities of Petri nets, a novel mean of modeling and simulation analysis of a system. As there is hardly any professional, particularly in engineering, that has not been the user of computer communication networks, a good modeling technique will help in better describing and analyzing these systems The dissertation is an attempt to present models for Open...en_US
